Karla Xitlalli Navarro (she/her/hers) b. 1992
Currently resides in the Bay Area, California.
She is a visual artists working with a mixture of mediums from paintings and drawings to sculpture and installations.
Her work is both about the self, and the collective; expressing herself through intention and meditative practices. She explores themes of identity, Spirituality, and Astronomy.
Artist Statement
My work ultimately is an expression of myself around the concepts that are passions, curiosities, and interests of mine.
My work is made in resistance of oppressive societal forces and actively seeks to protect the holistic spiritual self. It is ever evolving, a representation of my day to day reality, and while being deeply personal also offers the opportunity to be relatable.
